After Liverpool’s key player Alberto Moreno left for Villarreal CF, Jurgen Klopp has spoken about the need for a left-back so that they can manage to find a cover for Andy Robertson.

In the 2018-19 season, Moreno was on the field for only a little over two-and-a-half hours in the Premier League. The main reason for Moreno spending less time on the field was Robertson’s dramatic rise over the last couple of years. His rise meant very limited opportunities at this club.

The fact that James Milner was also included in the team reduced his chances of being on the football pitch further.

Now with Moreno going to Spanish club Villarreal, there would be a concern about the lack of depth in the left-back position.

Following the Red’s 3-1 win over Bradford, Klopp was addressing the media and talked about the issue in detail.

“We will see. It’s not a yes, not a no. I have said already we have to think about everything and at the end maybe we do nothing, ” Klopp said.

“I can imagine we have a look at all the things around us. Of course, we lost a left-back (in Moreno) but today we saw two pretty young ones, and James (Milner) played it. We will see.” he added.

It is to be noted here that the issue has become more serious because Andy Robertson had to undergo a surgery post an insect bite which led to an infection.

Youngsters Adam Lewis and Yasser Larouci have been tried in the friendly matches till now. However, it remains to be seen if they are stuck with when the season commences.
