La Liga giants Barcelona were curtailed to a goalless draw against Borussia Dortmund in their UEFA Champions League face off and it now appears that Barcelona might want to make a few changes in their squad in the next transfer window and have reportedly shortlisted Trent Alexander-Arnold as their next target.

According to a report carried by Don Balon, a Spanish media outlet, Lionel Messi wants the Barcelona squad to work on their defence. He is particularly keen on having a reliable right-back option in the squad.

It is Barcelona superstar forward Lionel Messi who wants the Catalonia based franchise to try and bid for Liverpool star player Trent Alexander-Arnold. Trent was particularly impressive in the UEFA Champions League encounter between the two teams in the last season.

Another name that is being linked with Barcelona is that of the Bayern Munich player Joshua Kimmich. Both these players bring a lot to the table and Kimmich can even add a lot of value to the Barcelona squad since he can be used as a midfielder too.

The Don Balon report also goes on to add that Kimmich signing could help Barcelona find an apt replacement for Dani Alves who was used for a similar kind of role in the team.

Despite Alexander-Arnold being an equally useful option, Liverpool may not be willing to let go of their star player and that could be a huge challenge for Barcelona if they are indeed planning to rope him in.
