India’s poster boy Virat Kohli stole the show as he smashed his 73rd international hundred. He scored a remarkable 113 runs off 87 balls and helped India reach a big total.

Virat Kohli’s spectacular inning has helped the hosts to put forward a gigantic total of 373 runs in the first ODI played in Guwahati. Rohit and Shubman gave India a brilliant start and later Virat’s heroics brought India to a dominant position.

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, India was off to a great start. The Indian skipper Rohit Sharma who made a comeback after a thumb injury played an amazing inning scoring 83 runs off 67 balls that included 9 boundaries and 3 maximums.

Shubman Gill who was chosen to play ahead of Ishan Kishan showed his class and smashed 70 runs off 60 balls and added 143 runs for the first wicket. Shreyash 28 (24) and KL Rahul 39 (29) also looked in a good touch.
