The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) launched the inaugural edition of the Jharkhand Women’s Premier League (JWPL) at the JSCA International Cricket Stadium complex in Ranchi on Wednesday.
The four-team T20 tournament aims to provide competitive match exposure to women cricketers from across the state.

The league features Chotanagpur Blasters, Kolhan Dynamos, Palamu Warriors and Santhal Challengers, with players representing different regions of Jharkhand.
JSCA president Ajay Nath Shahdeo, vice-president Sanjay Pandey, secretary Saurabh Tiwary and joint secretary Shahbaz Nadeem inaugurated the tournament in the presence of officials and representatives of district cricket associations.
Speaking on the occasion, Tiwary said the association felt the need for a dedicated competition for women cricketers and hoped the league would expand in the coming years.
JSCA decided to provide financial support to participating players. Shahdeo announced a cash prize of Rs 3 lakh for the winning team and Rs 2 lakh for the runners-up. Individual awards will also be presented during the tournament.
The league is part of efforts to expand competitive opportunities for women cricketers in the state and strengthen the domestic cricket structure.
Matches will continue over the coming days among the four participating teams.
