Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane was revelling in his four-goal performance after the club’s 6-1 romp over Leicester City in their English Premier League tie at the King Power Stadium, declaring it “a perfect night”.

“It’s unbelievable,” gushed the 23-year-old speaking to Spurs TV after the game, with the matchball tucked under his arm.

“Obviously going into this game there has been a lot of talk about the Golden Boot and I wanted to just make sure I was in the mix for the last day of the season,” Kane admitted.

Spurs were utterly rampant as they put four past the 2015-16 Premier League champions and Kane enthused, “To score four and to play how we did…the team was incredible. It was the perfect night really.”

With Heung Son-min and Dele All enjoying fine seasons, Kane conceded that having such in-form teammates around him makes life easy for a striker.

“When we play free-flowing football like that, some of the play around the box in the first half…every man was on their game and it’s fantastic to see.

“It shows our mentality. We’ve not too much to play for now but we went out there and put on a performance like that,” Kane added.

Spurs’ final league match is at already-relegated Hull City on Sunday. But all eyes will be on the race for the Golden boot as Kane goes into the game on 26 goals, ahead of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku (24) and Arsenal winger Alexis Sanchez (23). Coincidentally, Lukaku and Sanchez will square-off on Sunday, when the Gunners host the Toffees but Kane is the heavy favourite after his brilliant display against Leicester to win the Golden Boot.
