Riding on Afgan star Rashid Khan’s exceptional all-round (34 runs off 10 balls and 3/19) performance, Kane Williamson-led SunRisers Hyderabad outshined Dinesh Karthik’s Kolkata Knight Riders in the second qualifier match of the Indian Premier League on Friday.

The match was played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

1- Kolkata played with only three overseas players (Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell) instead of four, this happened for the first time in the history of in a playoff/knockout of Indian Premier League.

2- In the second qualifier match, Rashid Khan scored unbeaten 34 runs off 10 balls with a strike rate of 340 – highest strike rate by a Hyderabad player after facing 10 or more balls in an innings. The previous record was held by Ben Cutting. In IPL 2016, Cutting had scored 39 runs off 15 balls with a strike-rate of 260.00 0against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Bengaluru.

3- Kolkata scored 67 runs in the PowerPlay (first six overs) – most by any franchise against SunRisers Hyderabad in the ongoing season.

4- In IPL 2018, Rashid Khan has clean bowled 7 batsmen – most by any bowler.

5- KKR’s wicket-keeper batsman Dinesh Karthik has scored 498 runs in IPL 2018 – most by keeper-captain in a single season. The Previous record was with Adam Gilchrist. He had made 495 runs in 2009 edition.

6- On Friday, Rashid Khan scored 34 runs, took three wickets, caught two catches and was involved in effecting a run-out and by doing so become the first player in the history of IPL to do so.

7- Only two times SRH has reached the IPL final. In IPL 2016, Hyderabad had reached IPL final and won under the captaincy of David Warner.
