In the 18th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018, R Ashwin’s Kings XI Punjab thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by nine wickets in a rain-truncated match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Saturday.

1- In IPL 2018, KXIP opener KL Rahul had scored 156 runs in powerplay so far and this is highest by any batsman.

2- Kings XI Punjab have been scoring runs with an average of 64 in the powerplay this season.

3- Explosive batsman Chris Gayle has scored 50-plus runs thrice in the 11th season of the IPL.

4- In the history of IPL, this is the first time, when Gayle has scored three consecutive fifties.

5- In Saturday’s game, KXIP took only 8.3 overs to reach the landmark of 100 runs — this the joint quickest century by any team in the cash-rich league.

6- Mumbai Indians had achieved the same feat against Delhi Daredevils at the Wankhede.

7- In IPL 2018, Chris Gayle has hit 21 sixes so far — highest by any player. Gayle has scored only 13 boundaries.

8- On Saturday (Rahul and Gayle) put up 100-run partnership against KKR and this has happened for the second time in the IPL ever.

9- In IPL 2011, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Chris Gayle had added 123 runs for Royal Challengers Bangalore.

10- Veteran West Indies player Chris Gayle has been involved 16 times in 100-run partnerships in the IPL.

11- Indian skipper Virat Kohli is the only players, who has been part of more 100-run partnerships then Chris Gayle. He has achieved this feat 17 times.

12- KKR’s wicket-keeper batsman Robin Uthappa ended up playing 81st time for the losing side — highest by any player in the cash-rich league.
