Newly crowned Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Daredevils thrashed Chennai Super Kings by 34 runs and in the process halted the CSK march to the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) point table, at the Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi on Friday.

Here is the stats review of Friday’s match:

1- So far in IPL 2018, Delhi Daredevils have used eight different opening pairs – most by any franchise in the league. The second slot in the list is reserved by Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, both the teams have used seven opening pairs.

2- CSK all-rounder Dwayne Bravo conceded 26 runs in last over of Delhi Daredevils innings, which was the joint most expensive by any Chennai bowler in IPL ever. In IPL 2015, Ravindra Jadeja had also conceded 26 against Mumbai Indians. Chamara Kapugedera had also given away 26 runs against Mumbai in IPL 2008.

3- On Friday, Vijay Shankar and Harshal Patel added 65 runs for the sixth wicket – Delhi Daredevils’ highest partnership for the 6th wicket in the history of IPL. In IPL 2010, Paul Collingwood and Daniel Vettori had added 60* runs against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Delhi.

4- CSK’s star batsman Ambati Rayudu has reached double figures in 13 innings – joint most by any player in IPL 2018. Kings XI Punjab’s KL Rahul has also reached the mark of double figures in all 13 innings in the ongoing edition of IPL.

5- On Friday, MS Dhoni completed his 6,000 runs in the shortest format of the game and became fifth Indian player to do so. Other than Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir have also crossed the mark of 6,000 runs in T20s.

6- Delhi’s wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has hit 33 sixes in IPL 2018 – joint most by any batsman. Ambati Rayudu has also struck 33 sixes in IPL so far. KXIP’s KL Rahul has 32 sixes under his belt in the ongoing season of IPL.

7- RCB skipper Virat Kohli has hit 38 sixes in IPL 2016 – most by any player in a single season.

8- In IPL 2018, only two times CSK have failed to chase down a target.
