The India women’s squad for the 2025 ODI World Cup will assemble in Visakhapatnam later this month for a preparatory camp ahead of their three-match series against Australia.

Along with the 15-member World Cup squad, the six standbys will also join, including Sayali Satghare, who is part of the Australia ODIs but will make way for allrounder Amanjot Kaur in the World Cup roster.

The camp may also see participation from the India A squad at a later stage, once their ongoing unofficial Test against Australia A concludes. India A are scheduled to play their first official World Cup warm-up against New Zealand at the CoE in Bengaluru. Radha Yadav, currently leading India A in Brisbane, is expected to link up with the senior side directly after the red-ball game wraps up on August 24.

The choice of Vizag as the venue is strategic, with India slated to face South Africa (Oct 9) and Australia (Oct 12) at the ACA-VDCA Stadium during the World Cup.

The women’s team last played an ODI there in 2014, when Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Sneh Rana were part of the XI. Besides Vizag, Guwahati, Indore and Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium will also host fixtures of the eight-team event.

The camp, primarily skills-focused, is a continuation of the earlier 10-day training in Bengaluru, which emphasized fitness, fielding and match simulations. In Vizag, the team is expected to play a couple of intra-squad games under lights before a short break leading into the home series against Australia starting September 14 in Mullanpur.
