Indian women ’s cricket team defeated the South African team by five wickets and registered a series-winning victory in the second ODI. Earlier, India restricted South Africa to 247/6 and then comfortably chased down the target in just 48 overs. With this win, India have now taken an unassailable lead of 2-0 in the three-match series.

However, it was not that easy for the Indian team as India did lose their way in the middle. After Mithali was dismissed, Raut and Deepti Sharma soon departed within the next couple of overs. Harmanpreet Kaur and Taniya Bhatia saw India over the line from what was a tricky situation.

As far as South Africa is concerned, opener Laura Wolvaardt turned out to be the highest scorer for the Proteas team with 69 off 98 balls. She was involved in multiple influential partnerships. It was Poonam Yadav who struck for India in the 16th over and broke the opening stand worth 76 run.
While Jhulan Goswami was miserly in her quota of 10 overs, Shikha Pandey, Ekta Bisht and Poonam Yadav finished with a couple of wickets each.
