Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara finally ‘scored a fifty’ in South Africa on Wednesday. However, it would not get counted in his Test half-century records.

The number three batsman scored 0 runs after playing fifty balls. Yes! That’s correct. Pujara faced 50 balls in the third Test match between India and South Africa without scoring a single run. Pujara opened his account on the 54th ball by stealing a single.

The micro-blogging site Twitter celebrated his efforts by tweeting about his massive ‘fifty’.

“Johannesburg 1992-93: Ravi Shastri batted 68 consecutive balls without scoring when he was at score of 9. Johannesburg 2017-18: Cheteshwar Pujara batted 53 consecutive balls without scoring from start of his innings. Ravi Shastri is the coach, watching it live…” wrote a cricket fan on Twitter.
