Indian batsman Cheteshwar Pujara finally ‘scored a fifty’ in South Africa on Wednesday. However, it would not get counted in his Test half-century records.

The number three batsman scored 0 runs after playing fifty balls. Yes! That’s correct. Pujara faced 50 balls in the third Test match between India and South Africa without scoring a single run. Pujara opened his account on the 54th ball by stealing a single.

“Johannesburg 1992-93: Ravi Shastri batted 68 consecutive balls without scoring when he was at score of 9. Johannesburg 2017-18: Cheteshwar Pujara batted 53 consecutive balls without scoring from start of his innings. Ravi Shastri is the coach, watching it live…” wrote a cricket fan on Twitter.

“54 balls … 90 minutes and he scores a run … !!! Cheteshwar Pujara _/\_ #INDvSA #IndvsSA #India,” write another fan.

” @cheteshwar1 hardwork should be appreciated. We are too defensive. Do we have enough time to groom one attacking opening batsman? We can’t go with these

openers. Sehwag was the big difference in 2000s. @vikrantgupta73,” wrote another cricket lover on social networking site.
