India won by 17 runs, sealing a dominant victory to continue their fine form in Group A. The Men in Blue now head confidently into the Super 8s, powered by a combination of disciplined batting, explosive finishing, and tight bowling performances from their pace and spin attack.

India posted a commanding 193/5 after opting to bat first at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Men in Blue got off to a shaky start, losing three early wickets, Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Tilak Varma, before Suryakumar Yadav steadied the innings. Yadav anchored the middle overs, rotating strike and accelerating when needed, taking India to 89/3 after 12 overs.

The innings turned explosive in the death overs, with Shivam Dube scoring a blazing 60 off 29 balls, reaching his fifty in just 25 deliveries. He was well supported by Hardik Pandya and Rinku Singh, who added crucial boundaries and sixes to push the total past the 190-run mark. Despite Dube’s dismissal in the final over, India finished strong at 193/5, giving themselves a challenging total to defend.

Chasing 194, the Netherlands started cautiously with openers Max O’Dowd and Michael Levitt against Arshdeep Singh. Levitt and O’Dowd rotated strike well in the powerplay, but wickets soon fell as India’s bowlers struck early. Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed O’Dowd and Aryan Dutt in quick succession, while Hardik Pandya removed Michael Levitt, leaving the Dutch at 52/2.

Despite brief resistance from Bas de Leede and Noah Croes, the Netherlands lost wickets at regular intervals. Shivam Dube and Washington Sundar were particularly effective, claiming crucial breakthroughs. Dube dismissed Bas de Leede with a sharp catch and later removed Zach Lion-Cachet after he had survived two earlier chances.

The Dutch fought hard in patches, with boundaries from Croes and Lion-Cachet, but the required rate climbed too high. Logan van Beek finished the innings with a boundary, taking the Netherlands to 176/7, ultimately falling 17 runs short.
