Indian captain Rohit Sharma reached 4,000 runs during the 192-run chase against England at the JSCA International Stadium in the second inning.
With this achievement, Sharma becomes the country’s 17th cricketer to reach the milestone.
The 36-year-old is the tenth-fastest Indian to reach this historic milestone.
Sharma scored 55 runs in the second inning against England on Day 4.

In 58 test matches and 100 innings, the Indian captain scored 4035 runs at a 44.83 average, including 11 hundreds and 20 half-centuries.
