Rohit would ‘love’ to play Test series against Pakistan in neutral venue
Bilateral cricket between India and Pakistan has been put on hold since Misbah-ul-Haq’s team last toured India to play a three-match ODI series way back in 2012-13.
The 22nd match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 was played between India and Pakistan at Manchester on Sunday. India defeated arch-rivals Pakistan by 89 runs (DLS method).
India’s hero of the match was “Hitman” Rohit Sharma who was aptly adjudged as the Player of the Match. Rohit not only made 140 runs but, in the process, played the biggest knock in India- Pakistan encounters in World Cup cricket.

Only two batsmen have achieved this feat
Rohit became only the second batsman to score a hundred against Pakistan in the World Cup. The first one to do was none other than the Indian captain Virat Kohli.
While Rohit hit his ton in the ongoing edition of the ICC Cricket World Cup, Kohli registered his hundred against Pakistan in the 2015 World Cup. Kohli had made 107 runs in that innings.
Barring these two, no other batsmen has scored a hundred against the arch-rivals at the World Cup stage.
Sachin’s highest score – 98
Part of India’s six World Cup squads, Sachin Tendulkar bagged most of the batting records during his time that would make any batsman envy him. However, he failed to make a century against Pakistan at the World Cup stage.
It is worth noting that Sachin’s 98 against Pakistan in the 2003 World Cup in Centurion is considered by many cricket experts and fans as one of the best innings played at the World Cup stage.
Former Indian batsman Navjot Sidhu also had played an inning of 93 against Pakistan in the coveted tournament but failed to go past the triple figures.
Sachin holds the record for most half-centuries
Although Sachin does not have any century against Pakistan, he has the record for the most number of half-centuries against them at the World Cup stage. Sachin has scored three half-centuries against Pakistan.
