The cricket great of India Sachin Tendulkar praised the men-in-blue for winning the World Cup trophy for the fourth time. On Saturday at the Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, Indian squad beat Australia’s side by eight wickets to win the title.

Sachin Tendulkar took it to the micro-blogging site, Twitter and wrote, “WITH GREAT TEAM WORK, BIG DREAMS WORK. Congratulations to our WORLD CHAMPIONS!! We are proud of you. A big congratulations to Rahul and Paras for their guidance. #ICCU19CWC #INDvAUS”.

Wishes came for the champions from everywhere, from President Ram Nath Kovind to Home Minister Rajnath Singh, extending their greetings to the team. “Congrats to India’s talented young cricket team for winning the Under-19 World Cup. Calmness and composure of our boys embellishes their skills. Proud of captain @Shaw_Prithvi and his mates, as well as of coach Rahul Dravid and the hard-working support staff #PresidentKovind”, the President wrote on Twitter.

Earlier, following a target of 217 runs, India beat Australia by 8 wickets. From the Indian side, India skipper Prithvi Shaw and opener Manjot Kalra gave the team a steady opening by putting up the partnership of 71 rums for the first wicket.

However, soon Prithvi was sent back to the pavilion by Will Sutherland at the score of 29. Following his dismissal, Shubman Gill took the charge of Indian innings and added 31 runs before getting outsmarted by Australian bowler Param Uppal.

After Shubman Gill, wicket-keeper batsman Harvik Desai, along with Manjot Kalra, took the charge of Indian innings, and guided India to win the fourth International Cricket Council (ICC) under-19 World Cup title.
