Twitter was flooded with birthday wishes as elegant Indian opener Smriti Mandhana turned 22 on Wednesday (18th July).

Smriti Mandhana was born in Mumbai on 18 July 1996. However, at the age of two, Mandhana’s family moved to Sangli in Maharashtra. Mandhana created history by slamming unbeaten 224 runs from 150 balls against Gujarat while playing for Mumbai in the West Zone Under-19 Tournament. Mandhana had become first Indian women cricket to score a double hundred in the limited overs domestic game.

The 22-year-old cricketer has played 2 Test matches so far and scored 81 runs and Mandhana’s highest score in the longest format of the game is 51. Mandhana has played 41 ODIs and 36 T20I and has scored 1,464 and 767 runs, respectively.
