Gareth Bale has now moved to Rome as he is now prepping up to play for Real Madrid for a long time. Notably, this will be after a long time that he will feature in Real Madrid colours after his expected deal to feature in the Chinese Super League (CPL) failed.

Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane had named Gareth Bale in the team for the first four matches. However, he did not feature in any of them. The Wales International player last played for Real Madrid as a substitute in the second half of Madrid’s infamous 7-3 defeat against Atletico Madrid in the International Champions Cup on 27 July. This was before his anticipated transfer to Chinese Super League could not happen.

Bale was expected to join CPL side Jiangsu Suning but the deal could not materialise with reports stating that Madrid were not impressed with the transfer fee that was being offered to them. Other reports suggested that Bale had rejected the move citing family reasons.

Bale has not played in the friendly matches against Tottenham, Fenerbahce and Salzburg. With the absence of James Rodriguez from the team, he might get to feature in a few matches but his future at Real Madrid largely remains blurred with Napoli and Atletico Madrid interested in signing him.
