Royal Challengers Bengaluru are on a roll as they continued their dominant run in the TATA WPL 2026 with an emphatic eight-wicket win over Delhi Capitals, chasing down the target with 10 balls to spare. Skipper Smriti Mandhana led from the front with a sublime 96 off 61 balls, powering RCB to their fourth consecutive victory and further strengthening their position in the tournament. This is their fourth win of the tournament and they shone brightly.

In the previous match, they won by 32-runs against Gujarat Giants, a result that further underlined their strong form. RCB’s performance was powered by standout contributions from Richa Ghosh, who played a fluent 44, and Radha Yadav, who impressed with a commanding 66. With the ball, Shreyanka Patil stole the spotlight, claiming a five-wicket haul and strengthening her case as one of RCB’s key match-winners this season.

Delhi Capitals, have had a mixed campaign so far. After a rocky start that saw them lose their first two matches, DC regained confidence with a crucial win over UP Warriorz in their previous outing.

A boundary from Georgia Voll off Lucy Hamilton in the 19th over sealed the deal as Royal Challengers Bengaluru wrapped up the chase in style, winning by eight wickets with 10 balls to spare. Earlier in the over, Voll had brought up her half-century, her third in the TATA WPL, reaching the milestone in just her fourth outing.

Before that, Richa Ghosh walked in at number four after the fall of the skipper and immediately made an impact, striking a boundary to keep the momentum firmly with RCB. Smriti Mandhana’s superb knock finally came to an end in the 18th over when Nandni Sharma struck, ending a dominant 142-run stand. Mandhana departed for a brilliant 96 off 61 balls, falling just short of a century as Lucy Hamilton produced a stunning diving catch to her right. At that stage, RCB were 156/2, needing only 11 runs from 16 deliveries.

Earlier, Marizanne Kapp returned in the 17th over but was taken on by Mandhana, who struck two consecutive boundaries as RCB surged to 155/1. The charge had begun in the 16th over when Minnu Mani was reintroduced, only for Mandhana to loft the very first ball for six, her third maximum, moving to 84 off 54 balls. Georgia Voll rounded off the over with a boundary off the final delivery, further tightening RCB’s grip on the chase.

Minnu Mani was introduced in the 15th over and managed to keep things relatively tighter, conceding just seven runs as RCB continued to cruise. Before that, Georgia Voll cut loose against Sree Charani, launching a towering six that pushed RCB to 120/1 by the end of the 14th over.

The momentum had already swung heavily in RCB’s favour in the 12th over when Lucy Hamilton returned to the attack. Smriti Mandhana punished her with a six and a four, before a wayward delivery down the leg side resulted in five wides, compounding Delhi Capitals’ troubles. The over went for 18 runs, putting DC firmly on the back foot.

Earlier, Nandni Sharma had come back into the attack in the 11th over, but Georgia Voll took full advantage, smashing a four and a six to keep the pressure firmly on the bowlers.

After 10 overs, RCB cruised to 83/1 as the Mandhana-Voll partnership continued to flourish. Shafali Verma was brought into the attack, but the duo struck two boundaries in the over to keep the scoring rate healthy.

The ninth over saw Sree Charani return, but Smriti Mandhana stayed in control, drilling a boundary and bringing up her fifth TATA WPL half-century and he maiden for the 2026 season. The over yielded seven runs as RCB tightened their grip on the chase.

Earlier in the eighth, Sneh Rana was introduced into the attack, but RCB brought up 50 with the very first ball. Mandhana led the charge as the pair plundered 13 runs from the over, aided by a no-ball and two crisp boundaries. At the end of eight overs, RCB were 62/1, well ahead of Delhi Capitals’ 74/5 at the same stage.

The seventh over was dramatic. Sree Charani conceded consecutive boundaries to Mandhana before appealing for an LBW against Georgia Voll. The on-field umpire gave it out, but Voll immediately reviewed. UltraEdge confirmed a faint glove and bat before the ball struck the thigh pad, and the decision was overturned.

The phase began with youngster Nandni Sharma coming into the attack in the sixth over, where she conceded 10 runs as RCB maintained steady momentum through the Powerplay extension.

After five overs, RCB moved to 27/1 as Marizanne Kapp conceded two boundaries to Smriti Mandhana, who looked increasingly fluent at the crease.

The fourth over saw Lucy Hamilton back into the attack and nearly striking with an LBW appeal against Georgia Voll. UltraEdge confirmed no bat, while Ball Tracking showed the delivery pitching outside leg stump, and the on-field decision of not out was upheld. RCB lost a review in the process and finished the over at 17/1.

Georgia Voll had earlier walked in at number three after Grace Harris was dismissed in the third over. Marizanne Kapp returned to make the breakthrough, removing Harris for 1 off 4 balls and limiting her impact. At that stage, RCB were 14/1, needing 153 runs from 107 balls.

The second over brought momentum for RCB as debutant Lucy Hamilton was handed the new ball alongside Kapp. Smriti Mandhana capitalised immediately, driving three crisp boundaries off Hamilton.

RCB’s chase began cautiously with Grace Harris and Smriti Mandhana opening the innings, while Marizanne Kapp took the new ball for Delhi Capitals. Kapp set the tone with a tight first over, conceding just two runs and giving DC a much-needed steady start.

20th over:
Sayali Satghare was trusted with the final over, having figures of 2-0-18-2 till then. Lucy Hamilton struck a six early but perished soon after, becoming Sayali’s third wicket. Nandini Sharma walked in as the last batter, replacing Hamilton, but the end came quickly. Sayali Satghare dismissed Sree Charani to bowl Delhi Capitals out for 166, confirming a complete collapse as DC finished on 166/10.

19th over:
Nadine De Klerk bowled the penultimate over and conceded just seven runs, keeping the pressure firmly on the Capitals.

18th over:
Shreyanka Patil returned with two left-handers at the crease, but Lucy Hamilton counter-attacked brilliantly, smashing two sixes and a four to lift DC to 150/8.

17th over:
Lauren Bell struck after sending down a wide earlier in the over, removing Shafali Verma — the lone resistance. Prema Rawat completed the catch as Verma departed after a brave counter-attacking knock of 62 off 41. The Capitals slipped to 130/8, signalling the beginning of the end. Sree Charani walked in at number 10, and the over ended with DC at 133/8.

16th over:
Radha Yadav returned and nearly dismissed Shafali Verma straightaway as she miscued a tossed-up delivery outside off, but Gautami Naik put down the chance. The batters crossed for a single, and the missed opportunity cost RCB as Verma and Lucy Hamilton struck two boundaries. The over yielded 11 runs.

15 overs: Nadine De Klerk concedes nine as DC reach 118/7.

Dramatic end to the 14th over as the final ball of the over turned out to be full of drama. Richa Ghosh, the keeper, immediately appealed for a catch behind, but the umpire turned it down. No wide was signalled either. That’s when confusion took over. Shafali Verma seemed ready to review the decision for a wide, while at the same time Smriti Mandhana signalled for a review for caught behind after speaking with Ghosh. In the middle of the chaos, a frustrated Verma tried to explain that she had signalled first, but no one seemed to be listening.

Eventually, the umpire decided that Verma’s review for wide would be considered. UltraEdge showed no inside edge, but there was a spike when the ball came close to the pad. The third umpire wasn’t convinced and kept asking for more angles and replays.

Finally, the third umpire confirmed he could see the ball hit the pad, meaning it wasn’t a wide. He then checked for LBW, but the replays showed the ball had pitched outside leg, so the decision stayed as a dot ball. The result: RCB lost a review in the chaos.

In the same over, Prema Rawat struck, bowling Sneh Rana, DC’s fifth bowled dismissal of the innings. Lucy Hamilton, making her debut, walked in at No. 9 to replace Rana. Delhi Capitals ended the over at 109/7.

Earlier, in the 13th over, Radha Yadav returned and conceded a boundary to Sneh Rana, taking the score to 106/6.

In the 12th over, Shreyanka Patil came back into the attack and conceded 8 runs, including a four to Sneh Rana, leaving DC at 99/6 at the end of the over.

In the 11th over, Radha Yadav tried to break the resistance of Shafali Verma, who was the lone warrior for DC. Radha gave away 3 runs, but Verma reached her half-century in just 27 balls, her 7th in the TATA WPL and 4th against RCB.

In the 10th over, Prema Rawat returned to the attack and conceded 7 runs, including a boundary to Sneh Rana.

In the 9th over, Nadine de Klerk returned and struck immediately, dismissing Minnu Mani, who was caught by Smriti Mandhana. Minnu fell for 5 off 4, leaving Delhi Capitals at 74/6 in 8.1 overs. Sneh Rana walked in at No. 8 to join Shafali Verma, who continued to hold her ground and struck a four off De Klerk, taking the score to 81/6 at the end of the over.

Earlier, in the 8th over, Prema Rawat made a breakthrough by dismissing Niki Prasad LBW. The delivery was a flat, quick leg-break pitched in line with the leg stump. Niki attempted to work it across the line but missed, and the ball hit her back leg. UltraEdge showed no spike, but ball tracking indicated the ball would clip the leg stump on the umpire’s call. Minnu Mani replaced Niki at No. 7 and added 6 runs in that over.

In the 7th over, Nadine de Klerk came into the attack as the fourth bowler and conceded 8 runs.

The 6th over saw Shreyanka Patil, the star from the last match, give away 19 runs, as Delhi Capitals capitalised to recover from the early collapse.

RCB vs DC WPL 2026, 5-over Update: DC 41/4 after a brutal powerplay

By the end of the 5th over, Delhi Capitals were 41/4, with Shafali Verma scoring 10 runs off Lauren Bell in that over. Earlier in the 4th over, Sayali Satghare returned to bowl, but Verma punished her with two sixes. In the 3rd over, Lauren Bell came back and conceded 7 runs to Verma.

The innings had collapsed early in the 2nd over, when Sayali Satghare struck twice. She first dismissed Jemimah Rodrigues for 4 (3), reducing Delhi to 10/3, and then removed Marizanne Kapp for a golden duck, leaving DC reeling at 10/4. Niki Prasad came in at No. 5 following Kapp’s dismissal.

The early damage was caused by Lauren Bell, who took two quick wickets in the opening over. She bowled Lizelle Lee around her legs for 4 (2), and then trapped Laura Wolvaardt in front for a silver duck, leaving Delhi Capitals at 5/2 after 0.3 overs.
