Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has finally revealed whom he would prefer between Portugal great Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona star Lionel Messi. Both Ronaldo and Messi have enjoyed a stranglehold over the Ballon d’Or for the past decade. The duo shares ten Ballon d’Or awards between them.

The German was asked the question during a quick-fire round by a German TV channel in an interview. Weighing into the debate about who is best between Messi or Ronaldo, Klopp had a little hesitation.

“That’s unfair again – just like [whether I want to win] the Champions League or Premier League,” Klopp told Sky Germany, before adding, “But I would go with Lionel. Although I adore both!”

Both Messi and Ronaldo had a fantastic campaign once again this year. While the former Real Madrid star claimed his fifth Champions League medal, the Argentina footballer guided Barcelona to another La Liga title.

The duo – Messi and Ronaldo – are once again having a hugely successful campaign this season. CR7 has so far scored eight goals for his new team Juventus, and Messi has scored nine times in La Liga.

While Cristiano Ronaldo’s Juventus will next take on Spal on Saturday in their next Serie A game, Messi’s Barcelona will take on Atlético Madrid on Sunday.
