Shubman Gill’s brilliant 86 off 50 balls guided Gujarat Titans to a 5-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2026 at Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans (GT) defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 5 wickets with 2 balls to spare in Match 25 of IPL 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, chasing down 181 in a high-scoring contest powered by Shubman Gill’s masterclass.
Put in to bat, KKR posted 180 all out in 20 overs after a strong start quickly unravelled in the death overs. Cameron Green anchored the innings with a fluent 79 off 55 balls, striking 7 fours and 4 sixes, but a dramatic collapse saw KKR lose their last six wickets for just 33 runs.

GT’s pace attack set the tone early. Mohammed Siraj removed Ajinkya Rahane for a first-ball duck, while Kagiso Rabada struck twice in quick succession to leave KKR reeling at 32/3 inside the powerplay. Rovman Powell’s brisk 27 briefly revived the innings before Green and Anukul Roy stitched a stabilising stand, pushing KKR past 130.

However, the momentum shifted sharply once again in the middle and death overs. Rabada (3/29) returned to dismantle the lower order, while Siraj and Prasidh Krishna kept the pressure tight to restrict KKR to a below-par finish on a batting-friendly surface.
In response, Gujarat Titans made a flying start through Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill, racing to 71/1 in the powerplay. Gill was in sublime touch, crafting a composed yet authoritative 86 off 50 balls, hitting 8 fours and 4 sixes, and controlling the chase from the front.
Jos Buttler added a quick 25 before a brief middle-order wobble brought KKR back into the contest. Varun Chakaravarthy picked up two key wickets, but GT kept their chase on track through calm contributions from Washington Sundar and Glenn Phillips.
With the game tightening in the final overs, Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan held their nerve to finish the job, sealing victory with two balls remaining as GT continued their strong run in the tournament.
Gill was named Player of the Match for his match-defining knock, which anchored GT’s third consecutive win of the season, further strengthening their position in the points table.
