Ace India pugilists Shiva Thapa (63kg) and Pooja Rani (75kg) bagged gold medals, while Ashish Kulheria (69kg) ended his campaign with a silver at the Olympic Test Event for boxing.

Four-time Asian medallist Thapa drubbed Kazakhstan’s national champion and Asian bronze winner Sanatali Toltayev 5-0 to bag the highest honour. Meanwhile, former Asian Games bronze medallist Rani bagged another yellow for the country as she defeated Australia’s Caitlin Parker.

Thapa, who claimed his third national title earlier this month, had defeated Japan’s Daisuke Narimatsu in a split verdict in the semifinals, whereas Rani, who fetched a silver medal at the Asian Championships this year, outplayed Brazil’s Beatriz Soares in a unanimous decision to qualify for the final bout.
