India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hailed India’s emphatic five-wicket win over Pakistan in the Asia Cup final in Dubai, describing it as a powerful statement both on and off the field. Arguably, the richest cricket board in the world, the BCCI announced a whopping ₹21 crore for the players and support staff, recognising their effort and consistency throughout the campaign.

In a sharp post on social media, the BCCI wrote: “3 blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. 21 crores prize money for the team and support staff.”

The “3 blows. 0 response” remark was in reference to India’s clean sweep over Pakistan in the tournament, with the Men in Blue winning all three clashes.

India’s triumph at the Dubai International Stadium not only secured their record-extending ninth Asia Cup crown but also reinforced their dominance in high-pressure contests. Pakistan had looked well placed at 113/1 after 12.4 overs, but a stunning spell from Kuldeep Yadav and disciplined support from the rest of the bowling attack sparked a dramatic collapse, bundling them out for 146.

The chase, however, was far from straightforward before Tilak Varma successfully steered the ship after an early collapse of the top order. Tilak Varma anchored the innings with an unbeaten 69, while Shivam Dube added the finishing touches with a flurry of sixes to seal the victory with two balls to spare.
