On Tuesday, England will take on Colombia in what promises to be a clash for the ages as both sides are evenly poised. The two sides will be looking to book a spot in the quarter final to take on the winner of Sweden vs Switzerland match.

Both teams have many talented players who can change the course of the match any second with a moment of sheer brilliance.

Here is a list of five players who we think will make the difference in tonight’s clash between the European and Latin American giants.

Harry Kane, England

It was not difficult to guess this one as Harry Kane is England’s talisman and easily their best player. He has so far scored five goals in two matches for England and is also the top-scorer of the tournament.

If England want to win tonight against a balanced Colombian side, Harry Kane has to come good yet again and keep up his red hot form. He will also have his eye on the much coveted World Cup golden boot.

James Rodriguez, Colombia

James was the star of 2014 FIFA World Cup as he was the top scorer with six goals. He has so far been relatively quiet in this World Cup giving just two assists and having recurring injury concerns.

He is doubtful to start against England following his muscle injury against Senegal but may just make the cut given that its a do-or-die match. His wonder goal against Uruguay in the last 16 of 2014 World Cup is still fresh in memory and Colombian fans will be hoping for more of the same.

Dele Alli, England

Dele Alli has so far failed to set the tournament on fire as he missed the last match due to injury. His link-up play with Spurs teammate Kane will be the key for England to break Colmbia’s strong defence.

He is expected to be back in the side after being deemed fit and replace Loftus-cheek. Alli will have to finally come good if England actually want to bring the World Cup home.

Juan Quintero, Colombia

If James Rodriguez was the find of the 2014 World Cup, Juan Quintero has been the find of the 2018 World Cup for Colombia. He has been directly involved in three goals and has been Colombia’s their best player so far.

He is already being scouted by Tottenham and is expected to join a top club after the World Cup. If James misses tonight’s match, he will have to take on the added responsibility and perform out of his skin to help his side defeat the mighty Europeans.

Jordan Henderson, England

Liverpool’s captain has been brilliant for England so far at this World Cup. He may not have the flashy skills or Alli or the lightening pace of Sterling, but he more than makes up for it by his passing ability and intelligent reading of the game.

He has so far controlled the midfield with ease, distributing passes to the forwards and breaking opposition’s counter-attacks. He will have to win the midfield battle against Quintero and James and provide the ball to Sterling and Kane.
