This photograph was taken by Vinod Goel in 2011 when he saw a “very rare phenomenon” in the wild at Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. In this photo, two langurs can be seen having water. What is unique is that while one of the animals is quenching thirst in the normal way they do, its companion is drinking water like a human being. “It was like a great evolution taking place in front of my eyes,” says Goel.

This photograph is from Dudhwa National Park. A Crested Serpent Eagle is feeding on a Burmese python on the branch of a tree. According to wildlife enthusiasts, Goel claims, this was a record of sorts. While the photograph was taken in 2011, the behaviour got recorded in American Scientific Journal in 2017.

This image is from the Sariska Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan. Here, wildlife photographer Vinod Goel witnessed another unique behaviour. In the photograph, a mother sambar is seen feeding a fawn who is joined by a male sambar. When Goel asked Dr K Shankar, a senior professor who was earlier with the Wildlife Institute of India at Dehradun and worked at Sariska Tiger Reserve for more than 25 years, about it, he opined that this behaviour was “unbelievable”.
