Tantalising your taste buds

COFFEE

In sync with Kolkata’s cosmopolitan spirit, a niche cafe called Q33 in Quest Mall is serving delightful dishes from different parts of the world to tickle the taste buds of local and foreign patrons.

Located on the ground floor of the mall, it is a circular enclave built around the escalators, decorated in an antique-meets-tropical theme, which serves as the seating place for the customers, while the kitchen and counter is in an adjoining space. One can see the domed crystal ceiling of the mall by just looking up from one’s seat.

Coming to the food, there is a veritable collection to choose from, be it Continental, Middle Eastern, South-east Asian, Indian, Italian and even American fast food. They are conscious about the health factor and emphasise on cooking low calorie, light dishes. And some have been specifically designed for this purpose. The new menu offers tantalising and quirky yet healthy options.

The Feta Melon Salad is a fresh, light and healthy choice for a salad. The sweet watermelons mixed with the salty feta cheese make a delightful contrast of flavours, with the balsamic reduction and garnishing of black pepper and mustard leaves acting as accessories.

For someone who is hungry, yet conscious of gaining calories, the Health Lovers’ Chicken is the perfect choice. With a choice of mushroom and pepper sauce with potato mash and mixed greens, it is a fulfilling yet healthy dish.

The Asparagus and Goat’s Cheese Barquettes is a flavour bomb. A boat-shaped tart, filled with asparagus and goat cheese, is baked and garnished with balsamic vinegar and chilli oil on top, with cocktail dip acting as a base. One bite breaks the crunchy tart to reveal the gooey insides, which the cocktail dip takes to further delicious dimensions.

Last but not the least, is a trademark dessert item called Irish Creme Eclair, a sticky offspring of mocha cream stuffed in an éclairs shell and garnished with bitter, crackling coffee beans. One just needs to not be afraid of getting their hands dirty! The restaurant believes in keeping customers happy. So, the emphasis is more on satisfying the taste buds by serving authentic dishes in a different style while keeping presentation simple. Q33 is open from 10 am to 10:30 pm on all days and a meal for two would cost Rs 800 approx.
