Peter Triantos is the founder of 8Food, one of the leading condiment companies in Australia. His journey in the corporate world is one of the most inspirational ones.

Triantos dropped out of high school when he was just sixteen years old. This was a bold move, but not for Triantos. From a very young age, he knew that predefined systems create predefined people, and he wanted to step out of this box that society was trying to put him in.

Peter’s current venture, 8Food, was established in Melbourne in 2007, with a vision of developing and producing products 100% Australian made, products of high quality, gluten-free with no artificial flavours or colours, and as natural as possible. 8Food now supplies the food industry with a wide selection of products ranging from dressings to vinaigrette, mayonnaise, and sauces in a variety of packaging formats starting from as little as 5g sachets right up to 1000 ltr palecons.

When 8Food started, the big names in the market were not ready for this sort of competition, the amount of traction that Peter’s new venture was gaining threatened them. This led to a price war that tested Triantos’ financial strength and left him in a mess as he lost his family home. This still did not stop Peter from bouncing back; he managed to hold onto his business, change his tactics, and started servicing stores directly rather than engaging with distributors.

Building these relationships with store owners allowed Triantos to expand further, and he went on to establish his own distribution company to manage and sell his products. This led to the formation of 8Food Group Distribution. Now both companies have a turnover of more than thirty-five million dollars and a growth rate of twenty-five percent per annum.
