Western Railway has reaffirmed its commitment towards making all its railway establishments and units scrap-free under the ambitious “Mission Zero Scrap” initiative. In the current financial year 2025–26, Western Railway has achieved total scrap sale of over ₹302 crore as on 29th October, 2025.
According to a press release issued by Shri Vineet Abhishek, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the scrap sale performance is almost 21% higher than the proportionate target set by Railway Board. This significant milestone has been achieved two weeks ahead of last year’s record date of 13th November, 2024, when Western Railway had crossed the ₹300 crore mark.
