Weapons training given to civilian VDC members by Army

Amidst rising Pakistan sponsored terror activities in the Pir-Panchal ranges of Jammu, the Indian Army organised a weapon training camp for the civilian Village Defence Committee (VDC) members at Reasi.

Defence spokesman Suneel Bartwal said on Sunday that during the interactive workshop, the VDC members displayed their training prowess and skills in weapon handling.

The Army unit assisted all the members of VDC in further improving their self defence capabilities and laid emphasis on the role of VDC.

A lecture and demonstration on weapon handling and cleaning, musketry and minor repairs of weapons was conducted as part of the workshop.

The event was also utilised to exchange views on the role of VDC members including motivating youngsters to join defence services and stay away from Narcotics. A total of 30 VDC members were present during the workshop.
