Members of the Vishva Hindu Raksha Parishad (VHRP) on Saturday staged a protest march from Parivartan Chowk to the District Collectorate, demanding the demolition of Al-Falah University.
The demonstration was led by VHRP national president Gopal Rai, who accused the university of being linked to anti-national and terror-related activities.

Gopal Rai urged the administration to bulldoze the university structure and clear the land. He warned that if officials failed to take action, VHRP members would bring a bulldozer from Lucknow themselves and demolish the campus.
Rai further demanded that a Pandav Ved Vidyapeeth Gurukul be established on the land after the demolition. He claimed that the area holds significant mythological relevance, asserting that the site is associated with the period of exile spent by Kunti and the Pandavas during the Mahabharata era. He also pointed to the nearby Parson village, where the ancient ashram of Rishi Parashara is believed to have existed, and where his son Ved Vyas is said to have composed the 18 Puranas.
Calling the land “sacred and historically significant,” Rai said that having an institution allegedly linked to terror-related individuals in such an area was deeply concerning.
He recommended that the land be repurposed to establish a traditional Vedic learning center offering studies in Puranas, Vedas, Upanishads, and Indian knowledge systems.
Rai referred to reports claiming that individuals connected to Al-Falah University were linked to investigations into the Delhi blast case, including some residents of Lucknow. “If the administration does not bring down the university structure, VHRP will take matters into its own hands,” he said.
He further alleged that members of the medical community associated with the university were “spreading poison in society” instead of saving lives.
The VHRP delegation submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate, addressed to the President of India, seeking immediate action against the university.
