The political contest in Kerala has intensified ahead of the April 9 polls, with Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan on Monday accepting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s challenge for a public debate on the performance of the state government.
Responding to Vijayan’s willingness for a face-off, Satheesan said he was ready to participate and left the decision on venue and timing to the Chief Minister.

The exchange began when Satheesan initially challenged Vijayan to a public debate over the Left Democratic Front (LDF) government’s record.
A day later, Vijayan accepted the challenge via social media, citing development achievements and governance initiatives undertaken over the past decade.
With Satheesan now confirming his participation, the stage appears set for a high-profile political debate, which could become a key moment in the run-up to the polls.
