In a step to provide greater opportunities for the skilled youth of Uttarakhand on a global level in sectors suchas health and medical care, automobile and skill development,connecting it with Germany-based startups, a new framework has been outlined betweenthe state government and the German state of Hesse.
In this regard, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had recently met a German delegation comprising Rahul Kumar, Parliament Member of City Frankfurt; David Rendel,Mayor of City Raunheim; Saurabh Bhagat, Advisor, Foreign Investment Wing,Germany; and Stephan Wittekind, CEO of Innovation Hub Rhein-Main.The discussions focused onskill development, education, talent acquisition, and job opportunities.

A letter of Intent (LOI) regarding the cooperationwas also signed between the Uttarakhand government and the Germany-based innovation Hub Rhine-Main at Dehradun on August 29.This is partof the Indo-German connect aimed at building pathways for technology, skills, and jobs, said Kumar.The delegation from Germany had also visited institutions in Uttarakhand, where Frankfurt MP Kumar had emphasised the importance of German technology in driving innovation and sustainablegrowth, while the delegates also engaged with SIIDCUL, CII, and industry members to explore avenues for industrial and investment cooperation.
They also held discussionswith the stakeholders, focused on future-ready skill development frameworks, academic collaboration, and creating global job opportunities for the youth of Uttarakhand.
Dhami had stated that thegovernment is giving special attention to the skill development of youth, andthey are being equipped with skills as per the demands of various sectors.He added that thegovernment’s effort is to ensure that the youth of Uttarakhand excel in theirchosen fields and bring glory to the state.
According to Kumar, this LOI marks a milestone in Indo-German cooperation at the state level, laying thefoundation for long-term collaboration in healthcare, education, industry, andskill development. Beyond Uttarakhand, theframework is expected to serve as a model for expanding Indo-German cooperationacross other states, creating broader opportunities for innovation, partnerships,and shared progress, the Frankfurt MP said.
