S&P Global Ratings cut India's GDP growth to 6.6 per cent in the current fiscal year, driven by energy stress, a sub-par monsoon and slowing global growth.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047, the state is working on the “Developed Uttar Pradesh Vision 2047.”
“Every person in the state can play a contributing role in developing Uttar Pradesh by submitting suggestions in any of the 12 sectors identified by the government,” he said. He urged everyone to scan the QR code of the “Developed Uttar Pradesh Vision 2047” issued by the government on their mobile phones and submit their suggestions.

CM Yogi was addressing a workshop on “Developed India – Developed Uttar Pradesh Vision 2047” as the chief guest here on Sunday in the auditorium of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur (MGUG). Organized by the Maharana Pratap Education Council, the chief minister detailed the state’s past and present status and presented a roadmap for its future.

The Chief minister stated that after independence in 1947, Uttar Pradesh’s contribution to the country’s economy was 14 per cent. After that, it steadily declined but it began to improve after he became Chief Minister in 2017. The state’s GDP was ₹123.6 million crore in 2017. The government aims to increase it to ₹360.6 million by the end of this year, representing a threefold increase in 9 years. Similarly, per capita income in the state is also increasing from ₹45,000 to ₹120,000 in nine years. Today, development is being seen in every sector of the state.
He said on the 75th anniversary of independence, the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made five pledges to develop the country by 2047, and we must all move forward with them. We must embrace the five principles, completely eradicate the mentality of slavery, respect our heritage, honor and express gratitude to the army, paramilitary forces, and uniformed personnel, unite for an egalitarian society, free from caste, regional, or any other biases, and make fulfilling our civic duties a part of our daily routine.
The chief Minister said those who sacrificed everything for the nation dreamed of India becoming a global power. This workshop, organized to pledge for a developed India and a developed Uttar Pradesh, is the greatest tribute to those ancestors. PM Modi, along with the five vows for a developed India, also spoke of nine resolutions. These resolutions are very small and can be incorporated into our daily routine.
He said that the prime minister spoke of a resolution for water conservation. One resolution is for environmental protection, which includes planting a tree in the name of our mother. The third was about cleanliness. Encephalitis was prevalent in eastern Uttar Pradesh due to lack of sanitation. Today, this region is free of filth and encephalitis has also been eradicated. From 1977 to 2017, 50,000 children died from encephalitis. After 2017, due to the government’s efforts, it was successfully eradicated. Today, there are no deaths due to encephalitis.
He said that the Prime Minister has given the state a resolution for self-reliance. To achieve this, “we must adopt the indigenous model. We must adapt this model to suit the times and demands. We must move forward towards Vocal for Local”.
The chief minister stated that Uttar Pradesh has set a goal of achieving a $1 trillion economy by 2029-30. “After that, we will aim for a $3 trillion economy between 2029 and 2035. After that, Uttar Pradesh will aim for a $6 trillion economy by 2046-47.”
Uttar Pradesh has a large population of talented youth and the most fertile land. The agricultural, industrial, and service sectors hold immense potential. Before 2017, only 30 million tourists visited the state. This year, the Maha Kumbh Mela alone attracted 660 million tourists. The Chief Minister urged every citizen to submit his suggestions for the developed Uttar Pradesh Vision 2047 on the Samarth Uttar Pradesh portal. He said the three best suggestions related to the development of the district will be honored. Similarly, the five best suggestions related to the development of the state will also be honored. The Chief Minister said currently, lakhs of suggestions are coming in. The entire team is working on this.
