The Yogi Adityanath government has taken another big leap towards fulfilling “Empowered and Self-reliant Uttar Pradesh” with the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPIDA) and Central Electronics Limited (CEL) signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday to promote sustainable and smart industrial infrastructure.

The MoU was signed by UPSIDA Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mayur Maheshwari and CEL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Chetan Prakash Jain.

With this agreement, UP will not only move towards environment-friendly industrial development but will also move towards achieving the goal of net-zero emissions.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has already made it clear that industrial development should not be limited to production, but should move forward with environmental protection and use of new technologies. With this agreement, the developmental vision of UPSIDA and the technical expertise of CEL will together give new heights to the industrial structure of the state.

UPCIDAA CEO Mayur Maheshwari said, “The partnership is a historic step towards developing industrial hubs that are environmentally friendly, technologically advanced and in line with future needs”.

Key points of the agreement:

Renewable energy solutions – Solar power plants will be installed on rooftops and land in industrial areas. Solar street lighting, hybrid systems and energy storage technologies will be developed to increase energy efficiency.

-IT and smart infrastructure – Industrial areas will be made safe and high-tech with smart surveillance (CCTV), access control, public address system and centralized monitoring dashboard. Smart city technologies like Wi-Fi zones, IoT based asset tracking and data analytics will also be included.

-E-vehicle (EV) infrastructure – E-vehicle charging stations will be built in industrial areas, which will be integrated with renewable energy to promote sustainable transportation.

-Infrastructure upgradation and modernization – Civil, mechanical and electrical infrastructure in industrial areas will be modernized. Special emphasis will be laid on green buildings, water conservation and energy efficient technologies.

-Capacity building and training – Training, workshops and awareness campaigns will be conducted for industries and stakeholders. Best practices and guidelines will be published.

-Consultancy and policy support – Technical feasibility studies, DPRs and investment consultations will be prepared. Policy suggestions will also be given for green and smart industrial development.
