Swami Avimukteshwaranand said that Keshav Prasad Maurya is a sensible leader who understands that the officers committed a mistake and that the issue should not be escalated further. He added that Maurya is also aware that prolonging the matter is causing damage to the party.
Earlier, Deputy Chief Minister Maurya had appealed to the Shankaracharya to end his protest and had sought an apology on behalf of the state government.
Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati has been sitting on a protest since January 18 after he was allegedly stopped from proceeding towards the Sangam in his palanquin on the occasion of the Mauni Amavasya holy bath.
