After receiving the awards, Uttar Pradesh Police officers highlighted the innovations undertaken under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Director General of Police Rajiv Krishna, with a strong focus on technology-enabled, citizen-centric, and sensitive policing.
The SKOCH Awards are presented annually, and the 2025 edition was organised under the theme “Governing Viksit Bharat.”
The Mahakumbh 2025 ICCC made significant contributions in areas such as crowd estimation, personal security, and traffic management through advanced AI-driven systems.
It also played a crucial role in crowd control, disaster preparedness, and enhanced coordination among various agencies, including the police, civil administration, health services, fire services, and disaster management authorities.
The Meta Suicidal Alert System is an initiative developed by the Uttar Pradesh Police Social Media Centre in collaboration with Meta. Under this system, whenever suicide-related content is posted on social media platforms such as Facebook or Instagram, Meta immediately sends alerts to the Social Media Centre at Police Headquarters via email and telephone.
A dedicated 24×7 desk established at the Police Headquarters, integrated with the UP STF server, promptly traces the location of the individual at risk and forwards the information to the concerned district authorities.
The local police then contact the individual and their family members to provide timely assistance, rescue, and counselling, while also working to address the underlying issues within their jurisdiction.
Notably, between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2025, a total of 1,805 individuals were safely rescued through 1,802 alerts received from Meta. Of those rescued, 1,389 were men and 416 were women, highlighting the effectiveness and life-saving impact of the initiative.
