CM Adityanath had directed the establishment of detention centres in every division in the first phase. The commissioners and IGs have been asked to select sites and complete the necessary procedures expeditiously.
Following the government directive, administrative staff immediately swung into action, expediting the process of verification, listing, and investigation at the local level.
The state government maintains that the action is being taken to strengthen law and order and control illegal infiltration.
