In a significant move aimed at protecting the interests of the state’s youth, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday announced the cancellation of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination 2023 over reports of alleged leak of questions on social media.

The CM directed that the examination be reconducted within the next six months. Incidentally, the UP government had only last month scrapped the police recruitment examination due to paper leak.

The Chief Minister’s decision followed a thorough scrutiny of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination 2023, which was conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission on February 11, 2024.

The review meeting also discussed complaints regarding certain questions from the question paper circulating widely on social media. In response, the government issued a statement urging the public to provide evidence related to any attempts to influence the examination.

After reviewing the evidence provided to the government and the report submitted by the Commission, the Chief Minister ordered the cancellation of the examinations of both sessions of the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (Preliminary) Examination 2023, conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission on February 11, 2023. The examinations will be rescheduled and conducted again within the next six months.

The Chief Minister also instructed that this matter be referred to the Special Task Force to identify individuals involved in these criminal activities and strict legal and punitive measures initiated against them. The STF will expedite its investigation to ensure swift action against all those responsible for the leak of questions.
