Bad weather forces Rahul to cancel Almora rally, return to Delhi
Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi's Almora rally was cancelled on Thursday owing to bad weather conditions in the Kumaon region.
He alleged that there is a continuous conspiracy to weaken the soul of India through nefarious tactics of religious conversion, particularly targeting Hindus.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the Congress and Samajwadi Party (SP), criticizing what he called the “secular forces” for supporting illegal religious conversions.
He alleged that there is a continuous conspiracy to weaken the soul of India through nefarious tactics of religious conversion, particularly targeting Hindus.

“Unfortunately, it is regrettable that some leaders who identify as ‘Hindu’ only do so during election season, while their rhetoric remains steeped in anti-national appeasement,” Maurya said.

In a strongly-worded press statement, the Deputy CM said the true face of the Congress and SP has now been exposed before the people.
“The politics of appeasement practiced by these parties, their so-called secularism disguised in camouflage, and their willingness to compromise national interests for religious vote banks are no longer acceptable to the public,” he asserted.
Taking specific aim at the Congress, Maurya said the party should be questioned for introducing a ‘Communal Harmony Bill’ during its regime. He claimed the bill was intended to legally humiliate Hindu society and promote a radical mindset.
“This bill was not a document promoting religious harmony, but rather a legislative effort to suppress the rights of the majority and embolden fundamentalist forces,” he alleged.
Maurya firmly stated that such illegal conversion agendas will never succeed under the Narendra Modi-led government. “The BJP and Modi government work with the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, but there is no room for appeasement in this philosophy,” he said.
He further warned that those attempting to disrupt India’s social fabric for electoral gains should know that the people are now awakened and are giving a fitting reply to this alliance of appeasement. “Conversion, appeasement, and anti-national thinking will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he concluded.
