The CM also emphasized the need to realize the concept of ‘One District-One Cuisine’ (ODOC) to give an organized identity to the unique culinary traditions of each district. He said that the ‘One District-One Cuisine’ scheme is connected to the cultural soul of Uttar Pradesh.

Every region of the state has some unique culinary tradition. Some places are known for their halwa, while others are famous for their dalmoth.

He said that the special dishes of each district should be mapped, and their quality, hygiene, packaging, branding, and marketing should be strengthened. The Chief Minister said that ODOP and ODOC together will give new momentum to Uttar Pradesh in its journey from ‘Local to Global’.

The meeting was informed that the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, launched in 2018, has today become the backbone of Uttar Pradesh’s exports and local industries.

To date, more than 1.25 lakh toolkits have been distributed, over Rs. 6,000 crore in loans have been disbursed, and more than 8,000 entrepreneurs have received direct marketing support.

Thirty common facility centres have been sanctioned in the state, and 44 ODOP products have received geographical indication (GI) tags.

ODOP products are now available on prestigious e-commerce platforms and contribute more than fifty percent to the state’s total exports. ODOP has also received the national award for the second consecutive time.

Regarding ODOP 2.0, the Chief Minister stated that it should now become not just a scheme, but a powerful medium to take sustainable employment, local enterprises, and exports to new heights.

He said that more attention needs to be given to supporting those units and entrepreneurs who performed exceptionally well in the first phase, so that they can further expand their businesses.

The meeting was also informed that the Common Facility Centers associated with ODOP will now be made more useful.

The Chief Minister directed that the participation of experts be ensured at the Common Facility Centers so that small entrepreneurs can easily access complete support related to technical consultation, design, packaging, and production in one place.
