Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his grief on the death of pilgrims in the Mansa Devi stampede in Haridwar on Sunday. The UP government has announced an ex gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh each to the families of the four deceased from the state.
CM Adityanath in his condolences message on social media said, “The news of the death of devotees in an unfortunate accident on the Sri Mansa Devi Temple Road in Haridwar is extremely painful and disturbing. My condolences to the bereaved families”.

He said instructions have been issued to the officials to coordinate with the Uttarakhand government for the handover of the bodies of the UP citizens who died in the accident.

“The family of each deceased from Uttar Pradesh in this accident will be provided financial assistance of ₹2-2 lakh by @UPGovt,” the CM announced.
According to officials, in the Mansa Devi stampede, four people from UP have died. The deceased were identified as Aarush(12), a resident of Bareilly, Vicky (18) of Rampur, Vakil(45) of Barabanki, and Shanti Devi(60) of Badaun.
