The police dragged the SP youths and took them to the Eco Garden protest site.

SP workers were protesting against the lathi charge on students and workers during a demonstration at Shri RamSwaroop Memorial University (SRMU) on Tuesday. ABVP volunteers demonstrated against the university administration for irregularities, non-renewal of its law courses from the Bar Council of India, harassment of students and arbitrary fee collection.

SP leaders said that they are with the ABVP in this matter and they will not let injustice happen to the students at any cost. They will fight at every level to get them justice. If needed, they will go to Delhi, the SP leaders announced.

Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya went to KGMU hospital to enquire about the health of the ABVP activists who were admitted there after sustaining injuries in the police action.

Several BJP leaders have also visited the hospital to meet the injured.
