Jammu and Kashmir: Migrant labourer from Bihar shot dead by terrorists in Anantnag
The victim, whom the police identified as Raju Sah of Bihar, succumbed to injuries during treatment.
Security forces gunned down two terrorists in Jammu & Kashmir a day after the end of the Ramzan ceasefire in the state.
The two terrorists were neutralised in Bandipora during an ongoing operation conducted by a joint team of the Indian Army’s 14 RR, 22 RR and Para Commandos. The site of the encounter is a forested area of Panar.
The operation was launched on 9 June when terrorists fired at security force personnel in Raynar forest area, which is adjacent to the Panar forest.

A soldier and two terrorists were killed in the operation five days later on 14 June. Monday marks the 10th straight day of the operation. Six Army personnel, including an officer, have been reportedly injured in the encounter.
On 17 June, the Centre announced the revocation of the Ramzan ceasefire that was declared on 17 May and continued through the holy month till Eid-ul-Fitr on 16 June. The Greater Kashmir reports that at least 15 terrorists are hiding in the forest.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh had said the decision that prevented security forces from undertaking offensive operations in J-K during Ramzan was taken in the interests of the peace-loving people of J-K so that they could observe the holy month in a conducive atmosphere.
“Security Forces are being directed to take all necessary actions as earlier to prevent terrorists from launching attacks and indulging in violence and killings. Government will continue with its endeavour to create an environment free of terror and violence in J-K,” said Singh, officially bringing an end to a decision which was not seen favourably by some.

The Home Minister also said that though the security forces followed the decision, the terrorists continued their attacks on the forces and civilians resulting in many deaths.
The decision to end the ceasefire came three days after the brutal killing of ‘Rising Kashmir’ editor-in-chief Shujaat Bukhari and Indian Army soldier Aurangzeb.
