Security forces on Sunday foiled an infiltration bid with the elimination of two terrorists along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Keran sector of Kupwara, in north Kashmir.

The heavily-armed terrorists were intercepted while trying to cross the international border from the Pakistan-occupied side, triggering a fierce gunfight.

The search operation is still underway, with reinforcements sealing possible escape routes.

The Keran sector, a sensitive zone with repeated infiltration attempts, has been under tight vigil as such bids usually rise before winters.

A full-scale anti sabotage exercise was carried out at the Jammu airport after an airline received a bomb threat email. However, nothing suspicious was found during an extensive search operation by the CISF and J&K Police.

Meanwhile, a massive search operation was launched by the BSF in the border areas of the Samba district following reports of a suspected Pakistani drone flying along the international border. Further details are awaited.
