Meanwhile, Twisha’s husband Samarth Singh is presently in police custody. A Bhopal Court had sent him to 7 days police remand on Saturday in connection with the high-profile case. Twisha Tiwari, 33, the former Miss Pune, was found dead under suspicious circumstances on the terrace of the couple’s house in Katara Hills locality of Bhopal on the night of 12 May.

Sources said during police interrogations, Samarth claimed that Twisha had gone to a beauty parlour for about three hours from 3 to 6 pm on 12 May. When she returned home, he and Twisha had gone for a walk in a nearby park from 6.30 pm to 7.30 pm. After returning home, they had dinner and went to their room.

Samarth further claimed that while he was watching TV in his room, Twisha went out of the room to speak on her mobile phone with her mother. He then went off to sleep. After some time, he received a call from Twisha’s mother who told him that Twisha was very upset and was crying while speaking to her on the phone.

Samarth has reportedly told the police that he asked his mother to check on Twisha. Soon after, he heard his mother’s shouts from the terrace and rushed upstairs. His mother found Twisha hanging from a nylon exercise belt tied to a gym pull-ups rod on the terrace. They somehow managed to bring her down and gave her CPR.

According to sources, Samarth also told the police that they called their neighbours and some relatives living close by for help and rushed Twisha to the AIIMS Bhopal, but doctors there declared her brought dead.

The Bhopal Police are in the process of verifying Samarth‘a claims, and further investigations are on, even as the formal take over of the case investigations by the CBI is awaited.
