He said that in order to help the new entrepreneurs associated with the Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana, their coordination with big companies is being ensured of availability of raw material and marketing to ensure regular production.

The Additional Chief Secretary said that a tie-up of 40 beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyami Yojana has been done with a reputed brand in Muzaffarpur Bag Cluster and all of them are manufacturing branded bags.

Several people independently started doing their business within a year and have created their own brand. This experiment is being replicated in the field of hosiery in Bihta. Under this, the first 8 beneficiaries have been linked with TT Limited.

He further added that the first Plug & Play shed of Sikanderpur Industrial Area of 50,000 square feet has been completed and in this shed space has been provided to the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana.

He said that another eight sheds of 50,000 square feet size are under construction, all sets will be of 3 floors.

He further emphasised that the Department of Industries is making efforts to develop Sikanderpur Industrial Area as a textile cluster and that efforts are being made to establish Bihta and Muzaffarpur as new centres of hosiery production.

“Bihar is a huge consumer market of 13 crore people. If the consumer market of the surrounding states is added, then the consumer base of Made in Bihar products turns to be 40 crores. To cater such huge market, there is a need for mass production units in Bihar. If the beneficiaries of Mukhyamantri Udyami Yojana ensure timely manufacturing at low cost without compromising on quality, they will grow immensely,” Poundrik added.

During the event, Sanjay Jain, the Managing Director of TT Limited, highlighted that the company’s products are exported to over 65 countries.

“The textile cluster being established in Bihta currently operates with approximately 400 machines, and there is potential for it to accommodate up to 4,000 machines in the future,” said Jain.

He asserted that Bihar holds immense potential for labor-intensive industries such as textile, leather, and gem processing.

“Rather than fixating on the monetary value of investments pouring into Bihar, our attention should shift to the number of people who will gain employment from these investments,” he added.
