India and the European Union have signed several key pacts during the 16th India-EU Summit co-chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the President of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen and the President of the European Council, António Luís Santos da Costa, at Hyderabad House in Delhi.

While the historic Free Trade Agreement, dubbed “mother of all deals”, topped the agenda, the Summit delivered far more than that, with India and the EU signing a wide-ranging set of strategic pacts covering defence and security, skilling and mobility, clean energy, disaster management and research.

1. Towards 2030: A Joint India-European Union Comprehensive Strategic Agenda, the overarching document covering all aspects of India-EU Strategic Partnership

2. MoU between RBI and European Securities and Market Authority (ESMA)

3. Administrative Arrangement on Advanced Electronic Signatures and Seals

4. Security and Defence Partnership: The agreement focuses on intelligence sharing, defence manufacturing, maritime safety, and cooperation in emerging domains like space and cyber. Officials say it marks a move from dialogue to operational collaboration.

5. Launch of negotiations for an India-EU Security of Information Agreement

6. MoU on Comprehensive Framework on Co-operation on Mobility Skilling and Mobility

7. Announcement on setting up of European Union pilot Legal Gateway Office in India aimed to enhance skill mobility

8. Administrative Arrangement between NDMA and the Directorate-General for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (DG-ECHO) concerning Co-operation in Disaster Risk Management and Emergency Response

9. Constitution of a Green Hydrogen Task Force Clean Energy

10. Renewal of India-EU Agreement on Scientific & Technological Cooperation for the period 2025- 2030 Science & Technology, and Research & Innovation

11. Launch of exploratory talks for India entering into an association agreement with Horizon Europe Programme
