At least three labourers were buried alive and several others were injured, three seriously, when the wall of an under-construction hotel collapsed near Chandwaji, along the Jaipur – Delhi Highway, on Monday afternoon.
The tragic incident occurred this afternoon on the premises of “The Arawalli Palace Hotel” while a group of around 20 to 24 construction workers and labourers were working on the sewerage pit along the boundary wall.

Suddenly, earth caved in, the wall collapsed and debris, bricks and boulders rolled down into the sloppy exterior of the hotel premises. Three buried deep under the debris, the police said, adding they died on the spot.
Some others – more than half a dozen-, sustained injuries, the injured were rushed to the nearby NIMS Medical College Hospital, where condition of 3 was stated to be serious.
The Police, Civil Defence, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and onlookers, carried out intensive rescue operation for more than three hours and succeed in rescuing safe many labourers, the police spokesman said.
The deceased and the injured were migrant labourers hailing from Bihar. The deceased are identified as Rinku (35), Savita(39) and Ramji(40). Seriously injured are Vikram (30), Dileep(26) Surjan (37).
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed the authorities to ensure prompt and proper rescue operations and best possible medical treatment to injured.
Sharma also condoled the loss of human lives in the tragic incident and prayed for early and speedy recovery of injured ones.
