Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has slammed Akhilesh Yadav and his supporters for allegedly obstructing the legal action being taken against SP’s Twitter handle operator who is accused of making indecent comments on women leaders of the BJP and Constitutional bodies like the Election Commission and journalists.

Maurya said that the SP chief along with his supporters caused a ruckus at the Police Headquarters to save the people who are creating hooliganism on social media. However, they have forgotten that this is Yogi Adityanath’s government and no one can stop the law from taking its course here. There is no place for goons in the state, he said.

ADG, Law and Order, Orashsnt Kumar said that the police have taken action against the accused as per the rules. He said that after receiving the complaint against the accused,  the electronic footprint and all the information were collected from the service provider, and as per rules action was taken in this matter. A case has been registered under Sections 153A, 295A, 500, 505 and other sections of the IT Act against Manish Jagan Agarwal.
