Breaking silence over the notices of the Election Commission of India (ECI) for possessing dual voter IDs, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav questioned the Commission’s arbitrary action, saying the two voter IDs were issued by the election commission, thus its officials should give explanation.
“Who issued two EPIC numbers? Who is at fault? The Election Commission has committed the mistake and wants an explanation from me. Has it ever happened,” he asked.

He asserted that he has always used only one ID to vote.
The former deputy CM of Bihar said he has not received any notice from the Election Commission. He has received notice from a Sub-divisional Officer and he will respond at an appropriate time.
Soon after the publication of the draft electoral roll by the ECI, Tejashwi had claimed that his name was missing from the list. During a press conference in Patna, he had attempted to check his name on the ECI website using his EPIC number RAB2916120, but the site returned a “Not Found” result. However, the Election Commission promptly responded with a copy of the draft voter list showing the RJD leader’s name included with a different EPIC number.
Earlier, the ECI issued two notices to the RJD leader for possessing two separate voter IDs and asked him to submit a factual explanation within a stipulated time frame.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav indicated that he would not back down on the issue of Special Summary Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar.
In a meeting with party officials, he shared details of the survey data with them, pointing out significant irregularities in the findings. He instructed them to investigate the status of voters in their areas, prepare reports, and ensure that corrections are made to address the discrepancies.
Tejashwi asked them to gather information about their voters, identify those whose names have been removed, and ensure their names are reinstated. They have been asked to ascertain the nature of irregularities in the voter list and inform voters about the situation following the SIR.
