In a recent development in the Red Fort blast case, several members of the Tablighi Jamaat were detained by investigating agencies from the Faiz Ilahi Mosque in Chandni Chowk.

The mosque is reportedly where Dr. Umar Nabi, the alleged suicide bomber stayed.

“Due to the presence of the suspect, Dr. Umar, the Jammati members were questioned,” a source said. However, they were later released after the questioning. The mosque management committee was asked to provide details on the records maintained for visitors.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has filed a fresh FIR in the case. While the main investigation has been transferred to the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the Special Cell lodged this FIR to initiate a probe into the conspiracy angle.

According to police sources, overnight raids were conducted by the Delhi Police in the Dhauj and Nuh areas of Harayana and other areas adjecent to the national capital, with NIA officials accompanying them. Three doctors from Al Falah University in Faridabad have reportedly been detained during the operation.

Police Sources confirmed the names of two of the detained doctors as Mohammad and Mustakim, who were taken into custody from the Nuh area. “These two doctors were in contact with Dr. Muzammil,” the source said.

Interrogation of Mohammad and Mustakim is ongoing, as authorities continue to investigate whether they had any role in the procurement of explosives.
